Every one of us likes to brush our
teeth and we all need to keep healthy gums and teeth to last us the many years
ahead of us. When we are brushing our teeth, even with new toothbrushes such as
the Spin-brush, Pro Whitener, and other types of new and electronic
toothbrushes, we still need to keep track of how long we are using these
toothbrushes for. Toothbrush heads are not meant to last forever and yes they
will wear out. That is why we need to continually check to make sure that our
toothbrushes are in good working order.
Usually you want to replace your toothbrush at around fourteen weeks,
but that is just an estimated time. The best way to know if you need to replace
your toothbrush is to look at the bristles themselves. If the bristles are out
of shape and are wilting over, then it is time to start looking for a new tooth
brush.
A way to
help maintain longer life for your toothbrush head is to not press so hard when
you are brushing. Brushing your teeth to hard can not only ware out your
bristles, but it can also make your gums bleed. Brushing your teeth to hard can
also cause damage to your gums which can lead to some injury to your gums and
your teeth and does not help make your teeth any cleaner.
We must
realize that we must continually move our toothbrush around so that we may
reach all of our teeth. Sometimes we tend to think that our toothbrushes can
reach every part of our mouth when we fail to realize that we have to move it
around continually in order to properly clean our teeth and strengthen our
gums.
One of the
biggest mistakes that people make when picking out a toothbrush is picking
toothbrushes with hard and rigid edges. These types of toothbrushes are not
good for your teeth as they can cause gum damage by being to tough. It is not
good to make your gums bleed as that is not a sign of healthy teeth. Using
tough bristle toothbrushes do not help clean your teeth any better. Instead
they can cause serious damage to your teeth.
So remember
these tips when brushing your teeth. By following these simple suggestions you
can help take better care of your teeth and gums and maintain a healthy smile
over the years.
